Looking for a unique summer experience for kids who love music and theatre??

Our "Summer at the Movies" camps give students ages 7-14 (Voice + Piano ages 7-17!) a unique and immersive movie-themed experience while helping them improve their piano, voice, and/or musical theatre skills.
No experience necessary - beginners welcome!

Each of our 2024 summer camps will focus on a variety of piano, voice, musical theatre or voice + piano skills, games, and activities - each with a fun movie theme.

Students will choose and learn songs from movies like: Mario, Trolls, Descendents, Barbie, Taylor Swift Eras Tour, Harry Potter - you name it!
​
Themes like: Heroes vs Villains, Life in 3D Animation, From Broadway Stage to Movie Screen, and more!

VOICE CAMPS
Campers (ages 7-14) will have fun working on:
solo & group songs, vocal technique, performance practice, mic skills, selling a song - what that is and how to do it, musicianship for singers, how to pick and learn a song, character development, voiceovers - what they are and how to do them (Life in 3D only) and more!
Voice Camp, June 3-7: "Life in 3D"
Campers will pick songs from animated movies like...
Trolls, Tangled, Sing, Frozen, Moana, etc
Voice Camp, June 24-28: "Now Streaming"
Campers will pick songs from movies or musical TV shows like...
Miss Americana, Lion King, Barbie, Descendents, Little Mermaid, etc

PIANO CAMPS
Campers (ages 7-14) will have fun working on:
solo piano technique, theory games, ear training, improv, beginner piano composition, style & and musicianship for piano players, duet playing (for intermediate players), performance practice, musical independence, practicing - how & why to do it, music's role in movies, and more!
Piano Camp, June 17-21: "Box Office Blockbusters"
Campers will pick songs from blockbuster movies like...
Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Marvel, Harry Potter, Toy Story, Frozen, etc.
Piano Camp, July 15-19: "Heroes vs Villains"
Campers will pick songs from movies with heroes/villains like...
Spiderman, Harry Potter, Thor, Star Wars, Wonder Woman, Moana, etc

MUSICAL THEATRE CAMPS
Campers (ages 7-14) will:
have a full musical theatre experience! Including work on solo & group songs, choreography, acting, vocal technique, how to learn a song, performance practice, selling a song - what that is and how to do it, character development and more!​
Musical Theatre Camp, June 10-14: "Stage to Screen Act 1"
Musical Theatre Camp, July 8-12: "Stage to Screen Act 2"
Each week campers will pick songs from musicals they love especially those that have been adapted from Broadway to the Big Screen like...
Annie, Mama Mia, Mary Poppins, Frozen, Into the Woods, Percy Jackson, Mean Girls, West Side Story, Matilda, Shrek, The Lion King, etc.
VOICE + PIANO CAMP
Campers (ages 7-17) will have fun working on:
solo songs (piano & voice), accompanying yourself on piano while singing, piano chords - how to play them & why they are useful for singers, improv, jamming with a band - what is it & how to practice it, vocal technique, performance practice (piano & voice), selling a song - what that is & how to do it, musicianship, and more!
Voice + Piano Camp, July 22-26: "Behind the Music"
Campers will pick songs by singers that inspire them (many of which have movies about their music!) like ....
The Eras Tour (Taylor Swift), Here I Am (Dolly Parton), Rocketman (Elton John), Five Foot Two (Lady Gaga), My Mind and Me (Selena Gomez), Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen), Drive Home 2 You (Olivia Rodrigo), Excuse Me - I Love You (Ariana Grande), etc.

Do campers need to be current KST Performance Academy students?
Nope! Any kids can sign up for our summer camps. Camps are a great way to try out something new, or find your new musical home!
What ages can attend the camps?
Ages 7 -14 (Voice + Piano Camp ages: 7-17)
Do campers need prior experience to attend?
Nope! Open to all kids ages 7-14 (Voice+Piano Camp ages 7-17) no matter your piano/theatre/music background or lack thereof!
What days and times are the camps?
All camps are held are Mon-Fri, 9am to 3pm

Is before-care or after-care an option for campers?
Yes - 7:30am-5:30pm! BUT subject to availability!

Should I pack my camper a lunch/snack?
Campers will need to bring lunch (no microwavable meals) for themselves, every day. A snack will be provided every day. Any food allergies should be reported to the Academy Manager.

Which camps are still available?
All updated availability is indicated on the registration form. All spots are limited and first come first served!

What is the cost?
Camp: $300/camper/week
Before-care: $40/camper/week
After-care: $75/camper/week
What happens if my registered camper can no longer attend?
Tuition and before/after care fees are eligible for either a transfer to another camp (pending availability) or 50% refund for those who submit a withdrawal form by the following deadlines: MAY 1 - for June camps and before/after-care, JUN 1 - for July camps and before/after-care.

Do you offer refunds?
There are no refunds, credits or transfers for missed or canceled camp days after the withdrawal deadlines. No exceptions.
